Dear Readers,

With most of us still under stay-at-home orders, the combination of additional stress, fewer activities, and more time spent with friends or family often accelerates emotional conflicts. This month I offer How to Resolve Core Emotional Issues.

Trauma Life Essential Oil Blend can be used for transmuting feeling exploited into feeling empowered, which is very useful in these times of having our lives disrupted by outside influences.

Heart body types are gentle, approachable and sensitive, and are known for inspiring hugs.

As always, I hope and trust that these newsletters help you enjoy a happier, healthier life.

Health and Happiness,
Dr. Carolyn Mein

How To Resolve Core Emotional Issues

Most of us are still under stay-at-home orders. Whether you live alone, with children, or with friends or a partner or spouse, you may be finding that your Core Emotional Issues have been accelerated lately by increased time at home with others, compounded by current stresses. This can happen when we feel alone, as well as when we spend more time with people that trigger those issues. Fortunately there is a way to resolve these.

What Are Core Emotional Issues?

Early in my research while developing the 25 Body Type System, I discovered that each body type has specific emotional challenges that continue to recur throughout our lives. These Core Emotional Issues come up often, and are often related to our life lessons. These are challenges that we grow through – and when we do, they become our greatest strengths.

Relationships exist to teach us how to love unconditionally – first ourselves, then others. We tend to attract people into our families and lives that help to show us our emotional obstacles to unconditional love, so that we can identify and release them. Our Core Emotional Issues are triggers that bring these obstacles to light.

About The People In Your Life

The people closest to us in our lives are generally placed there to help us with our Core Emotional Issues.

Dawn has been working from home due to stay-at-home orders, and has been home schooling her son Devon. Dawn is a Gonadal body type and Devon is a Heart body type. Dawn was an average student, and struggles to help Devon with his homework. Devon tends to repeat the same mistakes several times before he learns. Dawn is under more stress than usual and loses her patience with Devon. This triggers Devon’s “not good enough” Core Emotional Issue. He’s already having a hard time with another Core Emotional Issue for Heart body types – loneliness, since he’s kept home and misses his friends. He withdraws, and Dawn begins to feel like she’s failing as a mother or a teacher – because “not good enough” is also a Core Emotional Issue for Gonadal body types.

Couples are also triggering each other, burdened by the additional stresses caused by stay-at-home orders. Jeff, a Lymph body type, has been having a tough time with his live-in girlfriend Jeanette, a Brain body type. Lymphs jump enthusiastically and openly head-first into new relationships, but once the newness wears off, their Core Emotional Issue of a fear of being left behind can cause them to become critical and question everything if they feel under validated. To avoid behind left behind they will often exit a relationship – “I’ll leave you before you leave me”. Jeanette, a Brain body type, experiences abandonment as a Core Emotional Issue. Even the threat of Jeff leaving triggers her fear of abandonment, putting them both on the defense and endangering their relationship.

Even those who live alone right now are experiencing heightened emotional triggers. Control is a Core Emotional Issue for Balanced, Brain, Nervous System, Pineal, and Stomach body types, many of whom may currently feel that their life is temporarily being controlled to an extent by others.

The relative isolation of the stay-at-home orders may be triggering aloneness with Pituitary types, restriction with Medulla types, or dependence with Thalamus types, or overwhelmed with Eye body types.

The Solution

Emotional patterns that no longer serve you can be released with essential oils as described in Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils. This process facilitates transmuting the negative emotion to its positive counterpart as shown in this video:

Are you a Heart body type? You might be, if:
  • You tend to inspire hugs
  • You are very approachable, sweet and lovable
  • You are very aware of, and sensitive to, the emotional state of others
  • You find it hard to be objective when immersed in your emotions
  • You have a natural ability to influence the emotions of those around you
  • You feel driven to either change or leave disharmonious situations
  • You bring your own rhythm or music to your environment

If this describes you, you could be a Heart body type.

Women's Appearance

Women with the Heart body type are petite-to-average with small-to-medium bone structure, often with small hands and feet. They have a soft, round appearance with firm, shapely buttocks. Face is full and oval or heart shaped. Initial weight gain is mostly lower body (pear shape), beginning in lower abdomen, upper thighs, inner knees, waist and upper hips, spreading to the middle back.

Men's Appearance

Men with the Heart body type are average-to-tall in height with medium-to-large bone structure. They have a full, oval or heart-shaped face. They may have a proportionate or thick torso. A persistant layer of softness over the torso makes it difficult to attain visible muscular definition even with exercise.

Personality, Relationships & Career

Heart body types are soft, gentle and approachable, and are known for inspiring hugs. They project a sensitivity and caring that makes others feel at ease. Home and family are a priority - they are the glue that holds families together.

Seeking the approval of others, they can be very accommodating, going out of their way to avoid hurting others' feelings. They are highly emotional, sensitive and intuitive. They are also worriers, very prone to stress, and can become uptight. Creativity expressed through art or music allows their intuitive side to express mentally, and helps to release excess emotional energy.

Heart body types are emotionally reactive to situtations, and their feelings are so amplified that they can experience a roller coaster of emotions. At these times they can find it difficult to be objective. When they become fatigued, they will go over and over something, creating a mental loop. This cycle can be broken by doing something physical.

The primary nature of Heart body types is Spiritual / Emotional. (Read more about the Points of Connection.)

Exercise

Exercise for Heart types is beneficial emotionally, or as a social opportunity. It is also helpful for weight loss. A natural soft layer makes it difficult to attain abdominal muscular definition. Running, biking, walking or karate can be done daily. Yoga, stretching or weight lifting can be once or twice weekly.

For more on exercising specifically for your body type, see the August 2017 Newsletter.

Nutrition, Diet & Weight Management

Heart types do best with lunch as the heaviest meal - including fruit for dessert helps digestion and curbs cravings for sweets; but avoid fruit after dinner. Include seeds, especially on salads. Avoid honey, whole wheat and refined sugar, which fatigues the muscles and the brain. Dairy produces weight gain.

To lose weight, eliminate all dairy and cheese except for butter; minimize grains and carbohydrates; and avoid wine.

Heart is not of the body types that can thrive on a vegetarian diet. For more about body type and vegetarianism, see the February 2018 Newsletter.

Core Emotional Issues

Each of the 25 body types encounters certain core emotional issues or lessons to overcome in life. For Heart body type, these are:
  • Loneliness - released with White Angelica Essential Oil, "I go to a loving space", transmutes to Connectedness with All That Is
  • Worry - released using Abundance Essential Oil, "I go to the depths", transmutes to Abundance
  • Not Good Enough - released using Humility Essential Oil, "I express my best", transmutes to Acceptance

Trauma Life Essential Oil
For Transmuting Exploited into Empowered

Do you feel like your nerves are on edge? Have you had enough of the restriction? Do you feel like you have been led down the path, being told to hang in there, this will be over soon, then told it will be another 2 weeks, only to be told it will be another 2 to 4 weeks, and maybe longer and to plan on it returning? Have you done the staying home and social distancing only to be frustrated and irritated by the lack of human contact? Or perhaps you are experiencing the stress of too much togetherness with your spouse and children? Are you the one who will give and give to keep everyone happy only to find yourself exhausted and unappreciated? Our close relationships come with an unspoken contract to help us evolve, to push each other’s buttons, to bring up core emotional issues so we can learn what the issues are there to teach us and express the other - positive side.

The way to get to the positive side is to first become aware of the negative, or problem side. This is why a problem that is not dealt with and resolved initially, gets worse over time – the alarm keeps getting louder, bigger, stronger. Have you ever found yourself in a situation that started off okay, then gradually became more and more demanding until you finally realized the negatives out weighed the positives? Have you found that extricating yourself from the situation would be difficult, but staying in it would mean compromising or giving up a part of yourself? This is an example of being Exploited.

Exploited generally means to be used by someone else for their own personal gain - generally without concern for the "victim’s" welfare. Because it is often gradual, it can feel like you are being led down the primrose path. The other side of Exploited is Empowered, which means taking back and standing in one’s own power. The way to get from Exploited to Empowered, is “I am true to my essence.” Exploited is stored in the Nerve point on the top of the shoulders, along with the feeling of being, acting or feeling like a Victim. The essential oil that holds the frequency for Empowered is Trauma Life. Trauma will either defeat or strengthen us.

Trauma Life was formulated to release buried emotional trauma such as accidents, death of loved ones, assault or abuse. It combats stress and uproots traumas that cause insomnia, anger, restlessness, and a weakened immune response.

Trauma Life is a blend containing Valerian, Lavender, Frankincense, Sandalwood, Rose, Helichrysum, Spruce, Geranium, Davana, and Citrus hystrix. Possible sun/skin sensitivity.

Other Uses:
  • Diffuse
  • Directly inhale
  • Add 2-4 drops to bath water
  • Apply to bottom of feet, chest, forehead, nape of neck, behind ears
  • Along spine raindrop style
  • Dilute 1:15 with vegetable oil for body massage
  • Put 4-8 drops on cotton ball and locate on vents
  • Add 2 drops to a wet cloth and put in clothes dryer
