| Creating Successful Relationships |
Relationships can be complicated. Every person is unique, so every relationship between two people is also unique. Expectations, needs and desires come into play and become magnified at close range and often sabotage relationships. Success in a relationship happens when these factors can be overcome, resulting in personal growth. But where do these challenges come from, and how can they be overcome? The Heart of the Valentine Open communication is essential in relationships. Valentine’s Day is an excellent opportunity to focus on what works in your relationship. Start with what attracted you to each other in the first place. Then – what are your goals and hopes for the relationship? Where do things stand now, where are you headed, and what has changed? This can be an ongoing process. Chances are that you will uncover things that relate to the following topics – and can be addressed. Realistic Expectations Expectations create issues in relationships, and are one of the most common reasons that relationships fail. The opposite of expectation is appreciation. When we grow through our expectations we are able to appreciate others as they are. Realistic expectations are achieved by not thinking someone should act a certain way when that’s not who they are. This requires an understanding of who you are as well as who they are – strengths, passions, challenges and motivations. These are described in the Personality Profile section of the Profile & Diet Booklet for each body type, including the “at best” and “at worst” characteristics or tendencies of each body type. Begin with yourself. The key is to become self-sufficient. Take personal responsibility for yourself, to be the “at best” aspect of who you are, rather than try to fit into someone else’s mold, or their idea or expectation of you. In short, be true to yourself. When we are self-sufficient, we become able to appreciate a partner without expectations, and to appreciate who they are and what their strengths are. Start by understanding where their strengths lie. That gives realistic expectations. Next, understand the differences in your partner’s personality – then it becomes easier to relax expectations of the other person, and reach a point of appreciation. Remind yourself to see everything as a gift rather than an expectation which allows you to remain in a place of appreciation for all your relationships. You can accelerate the process using Body Type Vibrationals – first take the Vibrational for your body type, then your partner’s. Taking your own Vibrational will help you reach your own “at best”, while taking your partner’s will give you a greater understanding and acceptance of who they are. It will help to create a more harmonious relationship. Gentle way of transmuting at worst characteristics into at best. I described what Vibrationals are and how they work in my May 2018 Newsletter. In short, they are homeopathic remedies that work with the mental and spiritual bodies, where essential oils work with the emotional and physical bodies before filtering into the mental and spiritual. If you don’t already know your body type, take the test for women or test for men. The Parental Factor Your parents (or whoever raised you), are the greatest male and female influences during your formative years, and set the tone for your future relationships. The parent you most identify with – generally your same-sex parent – sets the tone for your relationship with yourself, while the opposite-sex parent casts a pattern for your other relationships – especially romantic or intimate partnerships. These deeply engrained patterns carry into adulthood, whether we consciously realize it or not. Your parental relationships can be harmonized at a cellular level using Vibrationals. Begin with the parent you had the most trouble with while growing up. Take the Mother Genetics or Father Genetics until the bottle is empty (about a month), then switch to the other parent for a month. Core Emotional Issues We all experience all the emotions, but certain body types have more of an issue with certain ones. These are the Core Emotional Issues for each body type. As these emotions surface, they show up as central themes in relationships. For example, someone having the Skin body type is particularly susceptible to criticism and abandonment. A Skin type will hear criticism where it wasn’t intended, and will also interpret a situation as abandonment even if it wasn’t. These Core Emotional Issues easily become unintentional triggers in a relationship. Overlooking these triggers can create cumulative stress which can undermine a relationship, whereas understanding these aspects of your partner provides the opportunity to grow in harmony together. Work on your own Core Emotional Issues, and help your partner with theirs. Each emotion is stored in a different organ in the body, and specific essential oils can help us to access and transmute these stored emotions. This is a self-help technique I present in Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils. The Young Living Feelings Kit was designed to help people release these emotional patterns. One of the first steps in dealing with an issue is forgiveness, which is the first oil in the kit. These six oils take you through the process of dealing with core emotional issues. I’ll be covering the Feelings Kit in a 6-part Zoom course beginning February 23. This course will go in depth in resolving the patterns that ultimately cause stress in relationships. |

Forgiveness Essential Oil
Transmuting Betrayal into Trust |
The first thing that generally comes to mind when we hear the word betrayal is infidelity. A close second is a friendship that has gone bad. In both cases, it's a trust that has been broken. What caused the trust to be broken? What led up to the betrayal event? What caused the relationship to deteriorate? What was your part in the experience? What can be done so it doesn't happen again? The other side of betrayal is trust and the affirmation or lesson is "I have the courage to accept the truth." Betrayal doesn't just suddenly happen. There is a build up of unresolved conflict or tension which is ignored or denied. Most relationships are constructed around expectations. Many of these expectations are one-sided and have never been mutually agreed upon. Some are based on behaviors that were appropriate initially, but feelings and situations change. Relationships are dynamic, they grow when they are fed and nurtured; they deteriorate when there is a lack of understanding and rigidity. The area of the body where betrayal is stored is the pancreas. The pancreas is responsible for the production of digestive enzymes and insulin which regulates blood sugar levels. Pancreas problems can be associated with not enough sweetness in one's life. The essential oil, Forgiveness, holds the positive frequency of trust, assists you in forgiving yourself and others, as well as, giving you the courage to accept the truth. Forgiveness is an essential oil blend, which was formulated to help one release negative memories, negative emotional barriers, hurt feelings, insults, betrayal, distrust, repeating the past, revenge and self-denial. It allows attainment of higher awareness by assisting to forgive and let go. The fear of repeating the past is stored in the gallbladder, making it a useful oil for anyone with gallbladder issues. Forgiveness is a blend containing Rose, Melissa, Helichrysum, Angelica, Frankincense, Sandalwood, Lavender, Bergamot, Geranium, Jasmine, Lemon, Palmarosa , Roman Chamomile, Rosewood and Ylang Ylang. How to Use:
Forgiveness is the first oil in the Young Living Feelings Kit, and will be the first oil covered in my upcoming Zoom class Emotional Release with Essential Oils. Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils
