Dairy – Is It Good For Me?



Is dairy beneficial? Should you avoid it? Are some dairy products better for you than others? Should you avoid dairy if you want to lose weight?

There is much conflicting information out there about dairy which can be confusing. The general answer is that there is “good” and “bad” dairy – it’s an area for making informed choices.


Health Benefits of Dairy

Dairy products can be an excellent source of calcium, protein, vitamin D, and other nutrients. It is generally recognized as being beneficial to bone growth. The high potassium content can help to lower blood pressure.

Certain dairy foods are known to support and repopulate good bacteria in the body and the gut – especially after taking antibiotics, which indiscriminately kill healthful bacteria along with the problematic bacteria. Good bacteria in the intestines is the food source for the organism Candida Albacans in the body. When its food source is destroyed, overgrowth of Candida Albacans in the body occurs as it searches for food.

Kefir is another excellent food, because it contains beneficial bacteria. Antibiotics are known to kill all the bacteria in the intestines, including the good bacteria which are the food source for the Candida Albacans. Clearing Candida overgrowth requires re-establishing Candida’s food source in the intestines, repairing the gut and eliminating the systemic fungal overgrowth.

While yogurt also contains beneficial bacteria, this bacteria only stays in the system for one day. Kefir re-establishes the friendly bacteria which is the food source for Candida Albacans. When you are on antibiotics, you can eat yogurt or take a probiotic 2 hours after taking the antibiotic throughout the treatment course. Once you have finished, drink at least 8 ounces of kefir, before bed or before breakfast. The kefir can even be spread out to 2 ounces before bed for 4 days. Antibiotic use, including eating chicken or beef that have been given antibiotics, is the most common cause of Candida overgrowth.

The Adrenal body type would like to have beef and eggs for breakfast in the morning, which can overstimulate the adrenal glands, leaving them hungry and eating all day. Dairy stimulates the pituitary gland, so cottage cheese is an better breakfast choice for them, as it moves the energy into the upper body. By contrast the Pituitary wants cottage cheese for breakfast, but beef and eggs is a better choise for them.


Problems with Dairy

In working with thousands of patients over the years, including those who are lactose intolerant, I found 21 of the 25 body types can eat butter 3 to 7 days per week. The other four body types (Blood, Hypothalamus, Medulla, and Nervous System) can eat butter 1 to 2 times per week.

Milk cows are usually fed GMO corn, and their dairy can trigger a lactose reaction. They are also fed antibiotics, and products made from their milk can harm the good bacteria in our intestines. Organic, non-GMO dairy sources, from grass-fed cows, are best. Ideally butter should be organic and unsalted – you can add your own mineralized salt such as the Pink Salt I use.

One of the ways to determine if you have difficulty digesting dairy is to notice whether or not you get phlegm after eating it. Phlegm in the throat, sinus congestion or a runny nose are symptoms of digestive distress, frequently the result of food sensitivity. Dairy will often interfere with memory or result in “brain fog” for the Skin body type. Many children are sensitive to cow’s milk and cheese, along with sugar and wheat, which can show up as hyperactivity and/or learning difficulties.


Making Healthful Dairy Choices

In the past, whole milk was considered less healthy than lower fat milk due to the saturated fats. We now realize that we need the fat to digest the proteins. Weight gain from dairy tends to accumulate in the thighs. The body types that aren’t prone to gain in the thighs – such as Gallbladder body types – tend to do well with higher fat content in dairy products.

Sheep and goat cheeses are generally good. Hard, aged for 6 – 12 mos. cheeses are often the easiest to digest.

Are You a Liver Body Type?

Liver Body Types place a high priority on family, loyalty and stability





Women with the Liver body type have a strong, solid body with a sturdy appearance. They have dense, solid musculature with well defined calves. With a broad, thick torso and narrow hips, they often wear a larger size clothing for the upper body compared to the lower body. They have a short, thick neck with a tendency towards a double chin. Initial weight gain is in the upper body - abdomen, waist, back, and upper hips, with little or no weight gain in thighs.
Men with the Liver body type have a solid, stocky appearance with thick, heavy musculature. They can range from average height to very tall, and have a thick, straight torso with slender legs. They have a short, sometimes thick neck with a tendency for a double chin. Shoulders may be even with or moderately broader than hips. Torso musculature is solid with ability to attain muscular definition, while calves and thighs are muscular but slender. Weight gain primarily in abdomen, back and shoulders.

A vegetarian diet can provide adequate nutrition for the Liver body type when healthy.

Liver body types can lose weight by eliminating salt; avoiding chocolate, sodas and alcohol; exercising daily; and getting emotional support.

The passion of Liver body types is Teaching, and they are motivated by Support - received or deprived.

The Core Emotional Issues for the Liver body type are anger, fear and rejection.

Sacred Angel and White Angelica Essential Oils

Sometimes we feel “off” – that out-of-sync feeling. We can’t quite put our finger on it, but we notice things aren’t flowing as they normally do – we aren’t “in the zone”, can’t seem to focus.

The feeling of being Off transmutes to Harmony with Sacred Angel or White Angelica essential oils. The way out is “I relate” and the alarm point is the 10th or Universal Chakra, which is located 16” above the crown.

When things normally flow very well for us, sometimes it’s hard to relate to those who are Off and we become impatient. “I relate” is the lesson that helps us come to a point of increased compassion and less judgment with others. The result is an increased state of harmony with others.

The Universal Chakra, which is positioned above the Spirit Star (9th) Chakra, represents unity consciousness, expanded awareness, and connection with the universal web of life. It fosters the integration of our personal energies with the energies of others on a universal level and aligns us with the universal flow.
