Breakfast - How Important Is It? |
![]() You have been told it is essential to eat a good breakfast. Your body has been fasting all night and now needs fuel, but what if you are not hungry? You have a busy schedule and don’t have time to fix a big breakfast, let alone sit down and eat it. Even if you did, the typical breakfast foods, like eggs – raise the question about getting too much cholesterol. Cereal consists of grains, and this brings up gluten sensitivity. Then there is the milk that typically goes on the cereal, and many people are sensitive to dairy. Continental breakfasts – pastries and muffins, which consist primarily of grain and sugar, are guaranteed to add extra inches to the waistline. The next answer is smoothies. Smoothies consist of fruit juice and a protein powder. The problem with protein powders is a lot of people have difficulty digesting them, especially if they are a soy or milk base. Does this mean you should just skip breakfast? What I have found in testing and working with thousands of patients in over 25 years of clinical practice, is that no one that should totally skip breakfast. However, there is a big difference in the size of breakfast, the best time to eat, and what to eat. I did find a common denominator, and that is a person’s dominant gland, organ or system, which I categorized into 25 different body types. The Adrenal body type, compatible with Harvey Diamond’s “Fit for Life”, Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig Weight Management programs, does best with a light breakfast, eaten between 6 and 8 AM, consisting of a piece of fruit. On the other hand, if the Stomach body type eats fruit in the morning, it puts stress on their digestive system, effects their energy level, and interferes with their ability to lose weight. In addition to the Stomach body type, there are two other types, Medulla and Thymus, that should avoid fruit or fruit juice for breakfast. The Medulla body type is unusual in that they need to eat at least a few bites of a vegetable or drink some vegetable juice, like tomato, V-8, carrot, or any vegetable combination, before eating protein (eggs), grain (toast) or fruit. The Thymus needs protein and can eat up to 4 eggs a day, 6 days per week along with bacon, steak or lamb for breakfast. The Pituitary body type is another one that functions best when they eat a large breakfast. It can even be their main meal, like eating a typical dinner, between 7 and 8 in the morning. The Nervous System, Lung, and Thymus are the other types that need a substantial breakfast. Some types, like the Eye and Thyroid, have a wide range and can eat a light to heavy breakfast depending on how much they have eaten the day before and the amount of energy required for the activities of the day. Protein can be difficult for some types, like the Adrenal, Balanced, Brain, and Pancreas, to digest in the morning. Egg yolks are high in cholesterol, and the Adrenal body type tends to produce a lot of cholesterol, so it is best if they limit them to 2 eggs 2 times per week. Left to their basic indulgences, the Adrenal type would select steak and eggs for breakfast. When they allow themselves to do so, they find themselves eating all day long and putting on large amounts of weight. While Adrenals can put on large amounts of weight, they can also lose large amounts, which makes them the star dieters and the Weight Watchers' model. Oprah Winfrey is an Adrenal body type and a classic example of this weight struggle. The reason I wrote, “Different Bodies, Different Diets” is I saw a number of patients who followed a diet, lost weight, and then put back not only what they had lost, but extra to prepare for the next “famine”. Too many diets are based on starvation, so when the dieter goes back to a normal lifestyle, they regain the weight. Most people eat the foods their parents ate and what they learned when they were growing up. With 25 different body types, not everyone in the same family is the same body type, so your dietary requirements can be different than those of your parents. My focus is on the foods, frequency and best time to eat them, to optimize your health and wellness, regardless of whether you want to lose weight, build your body or simply maintain a healthy eating pattern. So as you can see, there isn't a universal answer to the question of Breakfast. The most supportive breakfast choices for you are determined by your the unique aspects of your body type. When you determine your body type using my Online Body Type Test, you receive a 60-page ebook for your specific body type. It includes food lists divided into three categories: Ultra Support foods that you can eat 3 to 7 times per week, Basic Support foods that you would eat 1 to 2 times per week, and Stressful foods that are best eaten once a month or less. There are 20 to 50 menu suggestions for each meal, snacks, and a week sample menu, plus a cleanse program. Ideal exercise and best restaurant choices for your body type are also included. The most profound part is the personality profile that identifies your characteristic strengths and motivation, as well as how to identify and deal with your challenges to turn them into your unique strengths.

The Stomach Body Type | ||
![]() Are you passionate about whatever you get involved in? Do you have excellent physical stamina and an intense mental focus? Do you generally accomplish your goals? Are you good at stepping in and taking charge? When dealing with a problem, do you often talk it out – either alone or with others? Are you generally social, enjoying public recognition for your accomplishments? If this describes you, you may be a Stomach body type. Passion Accomplishment gives the Stomach body type the greatest sense of fulfillment. It is meeting and overcoming a challenge – any challenge will do. By meeting and overcoming difficult or seemingly impossible tasks, they experience a sense of ultimate success, characterizing them as the “Achiever”. Motivation Stomachs are motivated by their desire to please. Consequently, the responses of those around them can be crucial to their sense of self-worth. They’ll pay close attention to their behavior and will often push themselves to do something because of how they think others will respond. Women will often link and measure their personal identity and value with their physical attractiveness. Core Emotional Issues Core emotional issues for Stomachs are Control, Victim, Conflict, Inferiority, Stubborn, and Abandonment. Control can be the fear of losing control, the fear of not being in control, being out of control, or being controlled by someone else – essentially anything relating to control. We generally think of control as being controlled by someone – an outside source that generally does not have our best interest at heart, or controlling our environment and life situations so we can be safe. Another way to control is by controlling ourselves – our thoughts, emotions, responses and expressions. The problem is all forms of control are fear based. So, the other side of control is not being out of control, but Balance. Balance is love based. It allows space for the ebb and flow in a relationship, for giving and receiving, for personal responsibility and support. The way to access Balance, the “way out” or the affirmation is “I am content and blessed.” Being content and knowing you are blessed aligns your spiritual and physical bodies, enabling you to access your intuition and inner guidance. Control can be released using Peace & Calming Essential Oil. Life Lesson The life lesson for the Stomach body type is “to allow change.” Allowing change requires letting go of control, which is stored in the stomach, and facilitating balance to manifest in the physical world. It is not enough for Stomachs to sit by and idly watch, they are achievers and are here to get things done. The challenge is to do it in a peaceful way, rather than through conflict. Points of Connection Dominant senses for the Stomach are mental and physical. With their strong will, determination, logic and mental focus, Stomachs like to gather information, synthesize it, and come up with a plan. Physically strong, with excellent strength and stamina, Stomachs have what it takes to meet any challenge that comes their way. They have the ability to activate others’ passion and make difficult or routine tasks light and enjoyable. Celebrities Stomach body type celebrities include John Wayne, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Julia Roberts, Vince Lombardi, and Donald Trump. Peace and Calming Essential Oil |
![]() I have found Peace & Calming and Peace & Calming II to be interchangeable, so for the sake of simplicity, I will refer to both as Peace & Calming. Control is a protective mechanism the ego uses to feel safe. Control is expressed in predominately two of three ways, with one being the strongest. The three ways are: controlling other people, controlling one’s environment, or controlling yourself. While everyone uses control to some degree, it is a core issue for some body types, not only Stomach, but also for Balanced, Brain, Nervous System, and Pineal types. Peace & Calming placed on the stomach alarm point helps hold the frequency of Balance. Peace & Calming is also useful in shifting the fear of being a Victim to being Self-responsible, which is a core issue of both the Stomach and Nervous System body types. Other emotions Peace & Calming is useful in transmuting are: addiction, argumentiveness, depression, indecisiveness, moodiness and scared. Peace & Calming also promotes relaxation and a deep sense of peace, helping to calm tensions and uplift spirits. It is a gentle, fragrant blend of Tangerine, Orange, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, and Blue Tansy with an aroma that’s comforting and freshens the air. Suggestions for use include:
