The 25 Body Type System TM
June 14, 2019
Issue No. 72
I am often asked about the body type of children. Your children most likely do not have your body type. Knowing their body type early can help you to feed them more supportively, and to better teach and raise them knowing how they are individually motivated.
Stomach body types have a take-charge personality, and the passion and intense mental focus to accomplish their goals.
Harmony Essential Oil can be used to release Stubborn, which is a core emotional issue for the Stomach body type.
As always, I hope and trust that these newsletters help you enjoy a happier, healthier life.
Health and Happiness,
Dr. Carolyn Mein

|Kids and Bodytyping|
When does your body type start?
You are born with your body type. It is based on your dominant gland, organ, or system, of which there are 25. For the sake of simplicity, I will refer to all of them as your dominant gland or body type. It is your dominant gland that determines certain physical characteristics, weight gain patterns, food preferences, and personality traits.
The youngest person I ever determined the body type of was less than 24 hours old. When he was born, his father said, “I don’t know what body type he is, but he is not the same as the rest of us.” Mom brought him in the next day – less than 24 hours after his birth - and Dad was right. Mom, Dad, and older brother are all Gonadal body types, the newborn is Adrenal.
What is the significance of knowing your body type?
The obvious value is in knowing what to eat. If you happen to be breast feeding and you are eating a food that is on the Stressful or Rarely list for your child’s body type, your child can have a reaction that could range from indigestion or irritation to a rash or allergy.
It is not unusual for kids to refuse certain foods or be “picky” eaters. Is this because they intuitively know a particular food does not support them or simply because they are unfamiliar with the food? Knowing your child’s body type will give you a list of the foods that do not support them. Rarely is everyone in the same family the same body type. I worked with a Mom whose body type is Gonadal, who has a daughter whose body type is Kidney. Peanut butter is a Stressful or Rarely food for Gonadals, but happens to be an Ultra Support or Frequently food for the Kidney body type. Mom was doing her best to do what she felt was best for her daughter, but because it went against what her daughter intuitively knew, it caused a lot of food battles. Knowing both body types solved the problem.
Almonds are generally thought to be the ideal nut. And almonds are Ultra Supportive for 9 of the 25 body types. However, almonds are Stressful for 2 types, Pineal and Thalamus. I worked with 3 different boys, all the same body type, Thalamus, who were getting colds, runny noses, and even persistent, strange body rashes. The common denominator, each of their Mom’s was giving them almond milk. Once the almond milk was stopped, the symptoms all cleared.
The time of day you eat certain foods matters. In addition to specific foods, the time of day a person can best eat fruit varies from body type to body type. The 2 body types that should avoid fruit for breakfast are Stomach and Thymus. The greatest difference between all the body types is the time of day they can best eat fruit. Some should avoid fruit for lunch, others dinner, and then there are those who can eat fruit anytime. The Pituitary, Pineal and Medulla should avoid eating protein for dinner and digest it best when eaten earlier in the day, - like for lunch.
Many parents give their children fruit juice to drink. Some will dilute the juice with water, others use fruit juice as an alternative to milk, or even a substitute for water. The body responds to fruit juice like it responds to fruit, so the time of day fruit juice is ideally consumed is the same as the ideal time of day to eat fruit. The biggest difference I see between body types is the time of day each type can eat fruit. Fruit is a sugar, even though it is natural, and can affect blood sugar levels. Eating fruit when it causes stress on the body can lead to insulin resistance and blood sugar problems.
Why does diet matter?
Weight is generally the first indication something is out of balance in the body. Excess weight gain has become a major problem and is associated with a number of health challenges including heart disease and diabetes. Weight loss or the inability to gain weight can also reflect a problem. My goal in writing Different Bodies, Different Diets was to lay out the eating plan that would best support each person to be as healthy as possible, regardless of whether they wanted to lose, gain, or maintain weight.
Understanding yourself and others.
Self-discovery can begin by learning to listen to your body. One of the easiest ways is to become aware of how your body feels is when you eat certain foods. Which foods and food combinations digest well, allow you to focus, and feel energized? Once you become aware of your body, you can start becoming aware of your thoughts, feelings, and your intuition. As you start becoming more aware of yourself, you will notice that not everyone thinks and feels the same as you do. Not everyone has the same strengths and challenges as you, even though there can be similarities.
This can bring you to the search to answer the basic life questions of, “Who am I?” “What motives me?” “What gives my life meaning?” “Why am I here?” “What do I want to do with my life?” “What career do I choose?” “What are my strengths?” “What are my challenges?” “What is my life lesson?” It can easily take 20+ years of introspection to answer these questions. Then the next step is how do you achieve your goals and ambitions. Knowing your body type can streamline the process. Your answers are within you and your dominant gland provides the key.
Just as different glands have different functions and strengths, these strengths and characteristics are reflected in the personality. For example, the adrenal glands are the strongest glands in the body and come to the rescue whenever the body is under stress, the Adrenal body type is strong and powerful, typically making their presence known when they walk into a room. The Heart body type, on the other hand, is huggable and approachable, setting the beat by getting in step with their environment and then shifting it to their desires – like the grandfather clock keeping the beat so in time, all the other clocks align to its rhythm.
Your personality profile provides your Essence that distinguishes you from the other 24 body types. It describes your Characteristic Traits, your Motivation, what your characteristic traits look like if expressed on the At Worst side and your potential compared to you in At Best. If you recognize any of the At Worst characteristics still operating in your life, Emotional Issues will provide a way of transmuting them with awareness, affirmations and essential oils.
While knowing your body type is essential in your personal understanding of yourself, knowing the body type of the people you are in relationships with will go a long way toward making your relationships harmonious. Knowing a person’s strengths will allow you to have realistic expectations and see them for who they are, rather than who you think they should be.
Knowing your child’s body type can help in choosing summer camps or activities.
Summer camps are a great way to develop new skills. They are an opportunity to explore possible areas of interest with only a short time investment. The body type profile describes a person’s strengths, as well as their challenges. Strengths come from overcoming and mastering challenges. A common challenge for most people is the fear of public speaking. A safe, fun way to begin to address this fear is to be involved in a play, musical or choir. Taking singing lessons or singing with a group can begin to build confidence, as well as develop skills.
Do you need more physical activity? Summer is the perfect time to be outdoors. Sports are great, water activities are ideal, gardening, or even helping around the house can be a learning endeavor.
Does your child love animals and think they might like to be a veterinarian? A critter camp is a good way to experience basic interactions. Volunteering at an animal shelter can be rewarding and fulfilling.
The Thalamus body type is sensitive to sound, often distinguishing music qualities other types fail to recognize. Taking a music class, playing music with friends, or working with sound mixing equipment could open doors to new experiences.
Would you like to build your social skills? Camping with a group out in nature can be fun. Do you want to learn to cook different foods? A summer class, or even You Tube videos are options. The Pancreas body type loves to socialize around food – so take the opportunity to be creative.
The Eye body type thrives on new experiences, the Balanced type loves adventure. Summer is a time to branch out. Make the most of it. Learn about yourself. Take the opportunity to do things you don’t do during the rest of the year.
Can you imagine what your life would be like if your parents knew who you were when you were growing up and were able to help you build your strengths and deal with your challenges in your formative years? This is the gift you can give your children and grandchildren.
How do you identify the body types of children?
Each body type has distinguishing characteristics or traits, many of which are apparent at birth. Have you ever seen a baby that looked like they were all eyes? This is typical of the Eye body type. Perhaps you noticed a dominant forehead – characteristic of the Brain body type. Dense heavy musculature – classic signature of the Adrenal body type. While some body types have noticeable physical characteristics, others are more subtle. The personality is present at birth and becomes more defined as the child grows. Qualities that are easy to define are: is the child more mental – wanting to know everything or emotional and feeling? Are they physical – needing physical activity or spiritual – intuitive, sensitive, idea based? Reading the personality profiles of the 25 different types will give you ideas as what to look for in identifying your child’s body type.
The book, Different Bodies, Different Diets, contains photographs of real people of all the types, as well as the personality profiles, and favorite foods. Many people will look at the photographs and recognize friends or family members from the similarities, and men generally relate more to reading the personality profile - often the first paragraph essence is sufficient. Teens will have developed enough of the secondary sex characteristics and weight gain areas to take the test, either for Men or Women.
3rd Rock Sunblock
All-Natural, Non-Toxic 35 SPF Protection
Dr. Guerry Grune (PhD in Chemical Engineering), an avid world class surfer, found American sunblocks to be not only toxic to skin, but inadequate protection from skin cancer-causing carcinogens. He formulated 3rd Rock Sunblock as an all-natural, non-toxic product with essential oils which actually nourish the skin during use.
Since its primary active ingredient –zinc oxide – is inorganic, 3rd Rock Sunblock doesn’t break down in UV light, allowing for lasting protection. The non-greasy consistency doesn’t clog skin pores and does absorb quickly into the skin.
|Are You a Stomach Body Type?|
Do you have an exceptional ability to step in and take charge? Do you have the passion, physical stamina, and intense mental focus that enables you to accomplish your goals? Then you may be a Stomach body type.
Celebrities with Stomach body type include Elizabeth Taylor, John Wayne, Richard Burton, Julia Roberts, Jillian Michaels, Vince Lombardi, Mark Wahlberg, Condoleeza Rice, Carrie Underwood, Vladimir Putin, Steve Wynn, Chuck Norris, Michelle Obama, Kevin Costner, Melania Trump, Keifer Sutherland, Britney Spears, Bono, Mahatma Ghandi, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump, Paula Abdul, Anthony Hopkins, and Jay Leno.
Are you a Stomach body type? You might be, if:
If this describes you, you could be a Stomach body type.
Women with the Stomach body type have a strong body with good stamina. They have a striking face with well-defined chin, and strong, square jaw. Their upper body may be a full size larger than the lower body. Initial weight gain is in the lower body plus the back, while additional weight gain occurs all over.
Stomach men have a thick, straight torso with slender legs and a smaller lower body. They often have a large or characteristic nose. They have a solid musculature and can easily attain muscular definition with exercise. They are also prone to early graying.
Just as the stomach focuses all its attention on the food it's digesting, Stomach body types focus on what's in front of them, which allows them to ignite their passion and truly live in the present moment. It's their focus, passion, and physical stamina that enable them to accomplish their goals. When dealing with a problem, they often talk it out, either alone or with someone else, chewing the data until they have sufficiently digested it. They make their best decisions after they have thoroughly processed the material. Their passion brings vitality to everything they undertake, which is especially apparent when expressed through music and dance.
Personality, Relationships & Career
The primary nature of Stomach body types is Mental / Physical. (Read more about the Points of Connection.)
Stomachs have a strong mental orientation to reality and often find that whatever they focus on, they create.
In their communication, Stomach types are quite articulate and precise. They project strength by the way they express themselves, causing people to listen when they speak. Trusting their intellect over their feelings and their own opinions over someone else’s can make them quite skeptical of new ideas and opposing beliefs.
Stomachs have a unique way of dealing with people, tasks, and situations. They completely focus their total attention on them as though they are engulfing them within their energy field. This allows them to ignite their own passion and experience things more intensely, causing them to manifest their desires.
Meeting a challenge brings a sense of ultimate success and accomplishment like nothing else. So, a challenge will often serve to motivate them to succeed at difficult or seemingly impossible tasks. Being basically social in nature, Stomach types enjoy the public recognition that their accomplishments can bring. Stomachs have a strong desire to please others as the responses of those around them are crucial to their sense of self-worth.
The Stomach body type easily builds muscle and responds well to heavy exercise, especially when balanced with flexibility exercise like stretching and yoga. Aerobic exercise releases stress, lifts depression, and can be a means of personal expression. Stomachs are naturally good dancers.

Nutrition, Diet & Weight
Stomach body types do best with a focus on protein & vegetables. Avoid fruit in morning. Salads are best at dinner, before or with main course.
Stomach is NOT one of the body types that can thrive on a vegetarian diet. For more about body type and vegetarianism, see the February 2018 Newsletter.
To lose weight, restrict bread, avoid fruit, reduce dairy, avoid snacking & alcohol, and eliminate caffeine.
