Everyone loves dessert, although it often comes with a side of guilt. This month I discuss healthy dessert recipes, and show how they can be modified for different body types.
This month I also describe how Valor Essential Oil can be used to release the Fear of Losing. This is a core emotional issue for the Thymus body type, which is also featured this month.

Healthy Desserts for All Body Types
What do you serve when you want a desert that is not loaded with refined sugar? How do you select or modify a recipe to work for all your guests, regardless of their body types?
Step 1 - Select a recipe, like this Date Fruit Pie:
In food processor at high speed, blend 1 & 1/2 cups walnuts, 1 cup pitted dates, 1/2 cup shredded coconut, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon until paste forms. Press into tart pan and chill. Arrange 1/2 cup each blackberries, blueberries, sliced strawberries, sliced kiwi fruit, and/or sliced mango on top of crust. Chill 1 hour. Serves 8.
Step 2 - List the body types of your guests:
This recipe is perfect for all your guests whose body type is Spleen, since blueberries, dates and walnuts are all on their Frequently/Supportive list. The Pancreas body type is great with dates, as are Gallbladder and Gonadal. Gallbladder body types are also good with kiwi and figs if you would like to reduce the dates and mix or substitute them with figs. Gonadal guests are good with walnuts, as well as pecans, if you would like to use a different nut. Blueberries and dates are supportive for the Heart body type and fruit is the perfect desert for them for lunch or the noontime meal.
You can change the fruit you choose to use by adding, deleting or substituting raspberries, cherries, boysenberries, plums, Jack fruit, and/or young coconut meat. Strawberries are known for being heavily sprayed, so you might want to omit them unless you know they are organic. Organic strawberries are supportive for the Lymph, Intestinal, and Adrenal body types, but not for the Balanced, Blood, or Medulla body types.
Coconut is great for the Lymph, Lung, Liver, Balanced, and Medulla body types, but not for the Stomach body type. You could take the coconut out of the crust and replace it with pistachios, pecans, almonds or hemp hearts. If you would rather not use walnuts, you could replace them with another nut. If the dates are too sweet, they could be replaced with dried figs, prunes or even mixed with dried apricots.
Step 3 - Decide what, if any, changes or substitutions you want to make to the original recipe.
Other quick dessert or snack ideas:
Open and pit a date, then place a pecan, almond or walnut inside. Variations include adding to or replacing a nut with a piece of cream cheese, or using dried figs or prunes instead of dates.
Cut small pieces of cream cheese - either solid or whipped, and add them to blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and/or cherries. You may use a single fruit or mix them. Another option is to add sliced almonds. This treat can be prepared as individual servings, a single dish, or as a filling for a crust.
The Best Time to Eat Fruit:
Since fruit is a whole food, it is often a staple in the diets of health-conscious people. However, the time of day that fruit can be eaten varies by body type, as it can stress the system - more sensitive people may experience lower blood sugar levels or digestion problems when eating fruit at certain times of day. This is the greatest dietary difference I have found between different body types – what's the best time of day to eat fruit.
For example, the Stomach body type should not eat fruit for breakfast, but is fine eating it any other time of day. The Gallbladder and Kidney body types should avoid fruit for lunch, but can enjoy it throughout the rest of the day. Dinner is not a good time for the Heart, Gonadal, Lung, Nervous System, Pineal or Skin body types to eat fruit. For the Balanced body type, it can be lunch or dinner. The Blood, Hypothalamus, Lymph, and Thalamus feel best if they avoid fruit for both lunch and dinner, but can eat fruit as an evening snack.
|Valor Essential Oil Blend to Release Fear of Losing|
The Fear of Losing is a core emotional issue for the Thymus body type. This emotional pattern can be released using the Valor Essential Oil blend. The other side (or way out) of Losing is Growth, and the affirmation is "I am aware." The fear of losing is stored in the Physical Body point which is located on the midline of the body below the lower lip.
Valor is a blend of rosewood, blue tansy, frankincense and spruce and in ancient times was used to prepare soldiers for battle. Valor Essential Oil balances energies to instill courage, confidence, and self-esteem. It helps the body self-correct its balance and alignment. Valor may be applied to the bottoms of the feet, wrists, chest, base of neck or along the spine in raindrop technique. It may be directly inhaled, or 2-4 drops added to bath water.
Other emotions that the essential oil Valor is used to clear are: Aggression, Defensiveness, Fear of Conflict, Inability to Cope, Feeling or Being Persecuted, Resignation and Withdrawn.
The function of the thymus gland is to defend the body against outside invaders like bacteria and viruses. T-killer cells attack and destroy foreign invaders, thus protecting the body. Likewise, the Thymus body type is very protective of the people they care about. The icon for the Thymus body type (see next article below) is a shield, representing defending one's self in a battle.
The Core emotional issues for Thymus are anger, failure, abandonment, inferiority, fear of being wrong and losing. The other side of the fear of Losing is Growth, and is the ultimate goal of a challenge. The statement or way out of the fear of losing is "I am aware" which affirms that you have learned from the experience.
|Are You a Thymus Body Type?|
You might be a Thymus Body Type if:
If this sounds like you, you may be a Thymus Body Type!
Exercising for at least 15 minutes daily (any time of day) is important for Thymus body types as it activates the immune system.
Thymus body types will find it difficult obtaining enough protein on a vegetarian diet. Dense protein should be consumed mostly at breakfast (which can be large) and lunch. Lamb and rye provide best support for the thymus gland. Eggs are exceptionally supportive for the Thymus body type, and this is the only body type that can eat up to 4 eggs per day, up to 6 days per week.
To lose weight, concentrate dense proteins into breakfast and lunch. Eliminate refined sugars – including desserts, fruit juices, and alcohol. Minimize breads, and eliminate all dairy except butter.
Thymus Body Type celebrities include Clint Eastwood, Sharon Stone, Jerry Hall, and George Bush.
The Core Emotional Issues common among those with the Thymus body type are Dependence (fear of), and Failure (fear of). Peppermint is the essential oil used to release both Dependence, which is stored in the thalamus, and Failure, which is stored in the thymus.
