Issue No. 18

This month I am pleased to put the spotlight on the use of essential oils. I know that most readers have benefited from my process of releasing unwanted or unproductive emotional patterns with essential oils. You know the process, but have you wondered why this process works? In this issue I will explore: how essential oils release emotional patterns.

I would also like to announce the release of a new 2015 edition of Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils, which becomes available today as a paperback or ebook.

The essential oil highlighted this month is Sacred Mountain, which is used to release Fear of the Unknown. This is a core emotional issue for the Pineal Body Type, which is also highlighted this month.

Of course the Holidays have arrived once again, and I offer helpful and healthful gift ideas that you can feel good about giving to loved ones.

I hope and trust that all topics I present this month will help you enjoy a healthier, happier life.

Health and Happiness,
Dr. Carolyn Mein

How Essential Oils Release Emotional Patterns
Essential oils are the life blood of plants. They hold a high vibrational frequency and increase oxygen in the cells. Smelling an essential oil activates the limbic system of the brain which is the seat of emotion. Emotions are stored in the body in the glands and organs that match their vibrational frequency. For example, acupuncture, which is over 5,000 years old, has found that anger is stored in the liver. A person who is angry will have an imbalance in their liver meridian.

Each emotion has a negative polarity or expression, which most people are quite aware of. The positive polarity or expression is generally some vague thing out there somewhere. If you don't know what the positive side is, how can you expect to express it, especially when you are in the throes of the negative experience?

A good place to start is with a negative emotion that seems to show up frequently. Think of this emotion and ask yourself what triggers it, what causes this negative emotion to surface? This is the beginning of understanding, of identifying the pattern, and the beliefs that no longer serve you. The statement or "way out" is the affirmation that will shift you from the negative expression of an emotion, such as anger, to its positive expression, which is laughter.

The affirmation statement is the bridge from the negative to the positive emotion. It provides a "way out" of a negative emotional state, and gives a starting point to understand why the negative emotion is in a person's experience. It provides a way to access the spiritual side and change from the negative to creating a positive experience.

Applying the essential oil for anger (Purification, which is a blend containing citronella, lemongrass, rosemary, melaleuca, lavendin and myrtle) to the acupuncture or reflex point for the liver and the emotional points on the forehead will release the emotion held in the body. Smelling the oil releases it from the memory stored in the limbic system in the head. Feeling both sides of the emotion allows you to create a bridge or pathway linking both sides of the emotion so you are now able to choose which emotion you want to express.

Essential oils hold the positive frequency of the emotion. Smelling the oils in times of stress will help you connect with the positive side of the emotion. Using the oil and affirmation process at night before you go to sleep allows your subconscious to clear old responses during your dream state. Doing the process in the morning allows you to set your intention for the day. Use it during the day whenever you think about it or a situation occurs.

You can use multiple oils, one after another, and/or multiple emotions with the same oil. Other emotions connected with the oil Purification are: fear of rejection, being alone, seeing, recognition, violence, and negative or erroneous thoughts.

A demonstration of this process is found on this video:

Essential Oil of the Month: Sacred Mountain
Do you have a fear of the Unknown?

A fear of the unknown is the need to know what is going to happen; a need to have a fully structured plan; you want all the details before you make a decision. While it is good to have a plan, ideally, you want to leave some space for spontaneity - for those unexpected experiences that can add spice to your life.

How do you know if your life success is limited by the fear of the unknown? Do you hold yourself back from experiencing life or from going for your dream because you don't know what the future will bring? Are you the one who always wants to play it safe rather than listening to your heart and doing something new, just because you feel like it?

While experiences are vital to our growth and development, we also have a need to be safe to maintain our life experience. The challenge is to find and maintain balance. One way to maintain the illusion of being safe is to be in control, whether it is control of self, control of others, or control of your environment. The problem with control, is inevitably, life brings us situations that we can't control - giving us the opportunity to learn balance. So, how do we increase our odds of having positive experiences while maintaining our balance?

We all come equipped with an internal guidance system, also known as our inner knowingness. The key is to learn to discern what is true - that still small voice, and what is our thoughts or outside influences. One way to access your inner knowingness is to "Listen to your heart". You can use "Listen to you heart" as an affirmation, apply the essential oil Sacred Mountain to the emotional points on the forehead and the Pineal point on the back or the head, to shift the fear of the unknown to knowingness.
